iPlane Spotter – The aviation enthusiasts’ best friend.

Icon

Every airworthy aircraft registered in the United States is required to display a registration or ‘N’ number. Using that N-number and iPlane Spotter, the enthusiast can quickly retrieve information about the aircraft, aircraft engine(s) and owner, right from their iPhone.  The registry includes all civilian aircraft from the smallest light sport aircraft to the largest airliners.  The only limitation is that access to the 3G network is required to download the data.

iPlane Spotter includes:

  • The entire FAA database of U.S.-registered aircraft.
  • Aircraft model names  – ex: B-25 “Mitchell (model names are not part of the FAA data).
  • An extensive list of aircraft nose art names – cross referenced to the FAA database.
  • Air Racer data: race classes, race numbers and pilot names
  • Listing of international aircraft country codes (their version of the “N” number).

iPlane Spotter is great for bored travellers, stuck in airport terminals, looking out the window at interesting aircraft.  Find out what kind of aircraft they are, where they’re from and who owns them.  It’s also great for airshow fans, air racing fans, warbird fans and just plain old airplane nuts.
