SmartUnits, unit converter for the iPhone

I’m pleased to announce that SmartUnits is available for sale on the app store.

SmartUnits is a unit convertor and calculator application, with support for more than twenty different unit types,  including currencies. It was designed to be as simple to use as possible, following the same interaction model and aesthetics as the iPhone’s calculator application.

Unlike most general purpose unit converting apps, SmartUnits supports overriding exchange rates with custom values allowing the user to get the exact value of the conversion, and not just an approximation. Interaction was designed to be intuitive, and easy to use in the day by day. Eg: shake gesture switches to and from units, digits can be erased one by one with a swipe movement. Last used, and favorites unit types configurations are supported, as well as shortcuts conversions, which can be configured just be leaving the shortcut button pressed until it makes a buzz.

Among the supported unit types are: Area, Data Storage, Energy, Kitchen, Length, Power, Pressure, Temperature, Time, Torque, Speed, Volume, Weight, Flow, Currency, Fuel Consumption, Acceleration, Angle, Luminance, Data Transfer, etc.
