iGarageSale 1.0 Released – Quickly locate garage sales near you

iGarageSale 1.0 is now available. iGarageSale provides a quick way to find garage sales of interest near you by browsing or searching garage sales overlaid on a Google Maps interface.

iGarageSale continually collects garage sales from Craigslist and other classified sites. Browse sales or search for specific items. Save your favorite sales for later, and get directions to a sale from your current location. Share your favorites by e-mail, Facebook, or Twitter — a great way to invite friends to go garage saling with you over the weekend.

iGarageSale appears to be the first garage sale app in the iPhone App Store that both combines an intuitive maps interface and provides access to comprehensive garage sale data. For past weekends, we have seen as many as 65,000 sales indexed. The app is currently US-only, but support for Canada and Australia is coming soon. If you are interested in seeing support for countries besides the US, Canada, and Australia, please contact us via the Contact form at iGarageSaleApp.com.

iGarageSale is currently available on the App Store. For a limited time it is available for only $.99. The price will return to $2.99 after the initial promotion ends.

WikiPlaces — Wikimapia access on the go

I’d like to introduce you WikiPlaces app — the first and only way to access Wikimapia.org on the go!

s0 s1 s2 s3

Wikimapia is great service with the aim of adding information like title, notes, photos and comments to all interesting locations on Earth. It currently has over 10,000,000 places marked. Unfortunately its Google Maps-based interface is deadly slow in Safari on iPhone.

And here WikiPlaces comes to help you. It uses publicly available KML feed from Wikimapia to overlay its objects over standard Google map. You can find very interesting information about places near you and all over the world. Anywhere it will be either helpful or just fun to play with.

World Guide

World Guide

See the world on your iPhone or iPod Touch – World Guide lets you browse valuable information for countries around the world, either by region or in a full list. Simply select a country to learn more about it, starting with basic facts like its capital, currency, languages spoken, population, local power convention, and time zone. In addition, you can read up on a general summary of the country, its climate, transportation conditions, local food and tipping customs, and even key phrases in the local language. Finally, you can look through details about destinations and places to go, tips about life in and travel to the area, and even a multi-touch zoomable flag and map for each location.

World Guide also contains a powerful full-text search function to let you hunt through all of the country information – search for a capital city, an ecotourist destination, or even just a quiet beach.

If you’re planning a trip, World Guide lets you make your own favorites list – while browsing a country, simply touch the plus symbol to save it to your favorites list, and create your own ‘bucket list’ of dream adventures or places to visit.

Can’t decide where to start? Take advantage of a unique World Guide feature by pulling up a country list and giving it a shake – this will pull up a random country, letting you visit somewhere new and different every time, while leaving the destination up to chance.

World Guide also stores all of its content offline, allowing you to keep the entire world at your fingertips as you travel, without requiring a connection to the Internet.

World Guide is the easiest and most convenient way to see the entire world, one country at a time.
