The long multiplication method

In arithmetic, long multiplication is the standard procedure suitable for multiplying numbers. The method breaks down a multiplication problem into a series of easier steps.

Easy to Use

The Long Multiplication app allows the user to solve a long multiplication problem step by step and animates all the steps. In the steps the user will multiply or add. The correct answer will fly to the right place. If the user presses the wrong button the answer will appear above the keyboard but it will not move.

Difficulty can be set with Settings

• The multiplicand can have up to 5 digits
• The multiplier can have 1 or 2 digits
• The current operation for each column can be hidden
• The operands for the current operation can be highlighted
• There are 3 different themes: black, gray and gold

The Math Hero needs to use addition, subtraction, multiplication and division to overcome obstacles and ultimately save a kidnapped Princess. Using the app’s sophisticated handwriting recognition program, the player can write the answers on a dungeon wall in order to make the wall collapse. Writing the answers adds an exciting  new user experience in this math game.

Another important feature is the increasing difficulty of the questions – as the Hero conquers the easier questions, the app throws more difficult ones in the way. The ultimate challenge, however, comes in the form of the Riddle Monsters – their math word problems are extra tough, but solving them the Hero is able to recover stolen royal treasures. The Princess expects as many of these as possible when the Hero finally reaches her cell and saves her.

Math Kingdom also offers a short, interactive tutorial on how to play the game, an off/on sound option, great graphics, and fun music.

Start in Practice Mode by tapping the Practice button at the bottom of the page. Then, select the type of problems you want to work on — addition, subtraction, multiplication or division — by tapping the operation bar at the top of the page. Select a different operation at any time. Tap the question mark for problems across all operations.

Use the keypad to enter your answer, then tap the Check Answer button. You’ll see if you are correct, and a new problem will appear. If you are not correct, you can keep trying or tap Skip Problem to move on.

When you are ready to test your skills, try Quiz Mode. Tap the Quiz Me! button at the bottom of the page. A timer will appear where the Check Answer button was. As in Practice Mode, use the keypad to enter your answer. Unlike Practice mode, as soon as you have entered the correct answer Flashcards! lets you know and moves on to the next problem, resetting the timer for each new problem. If time runs out, you’ll see the answer briefly and get a new problem and a new timer.

At any time, check your progress by tapping the Stats button to see how many problems you’ve answered and where you need to focus to improve. Statistics are saved across app launches, so you can track your progress over several days or weeks.

Flashcards! is highly customizable. The number set used to create problems can be set to any range within the numbers 0 to 100. The quiz timer can be set from 5 to 60 seconds. The sound effects can be disabled as needed.
