WikiPlaces — Wikimapia access on the go

I’d like to introduce you WikiPlaces app — the first and only way to access Wikimapia.org on the go!

s0 s1 s2 s3

Wikimapia is great service with the aim of adding information like title, notes, photos and comments to all interesting locations on Earth. It currently has over 10,000,000 places marked. Unfortunately its Google Maps-based interface is deadly slow in Safari on iPhone.

And here WikiPlaces comes to help you. It uses publicly available KML feed from Wikimapia to overlay its objects over standard Google map. You can find very interesting information about places near you and all over the world. Anywhere it will be either helpful or just fun to play with.

While iPhone app can’t on a par compete with £900+ device, SoundGrid is really packed with features. But at the same time its UI is very clean and simple. Even if you never composed music you will find SoundGrid easy and exciting to play with and will create brilliant compositions in minutes just with tips of your fingers. For more experienced users SoundGrid offers advanced features such as multiple patterns, control over looping, tempo adjustment, and of course real-time filters and effects to create unique sounds. Also you can easily share your compositions with other users and in turn browse and download their creations.

  • Support for unlimited number of Sound Banks with high-quality stereo sounds of any length (currently 7 SBs included)
  • Up to 8 layers each playing from any Sound Bank with up to 8 patterns per layer which you can quickly switch between
  • Select one of 8 colors for each layer to create visual performance synchronized with notes played
  • Real-time sound effects: delay and resonant lowpass/highpass/bandpass/notch filter
  • Adjustable project tempo, adjustable looping range for each pattern, grid randomization feature
  • Save and load multiple projects; it’s easy to find the one you want thanks to graphical previews
  • Share your compositions with other users, browse and download their projects

We’re constantly working on improving SoundGrid and adding new functionality so next versions will come soon with even more great features.
