I’d like to present you my updated application. Nature photography is my passion, my biggest hobby. When I bought my iPhone, I have picked up 50 photos from my collection (they are all my photographs) to use it as wallpapers. Then I decided to give it almost-free to the world

This application contains 50 photos of nature in the different subject areas (landscape, flowers, animals, macro). Each photo has been additionally described by the author.

Photos were prepared with a view to using them as an iPhone/iPod Touch wallpaper. You can save each of them and use them on your device without the necessity of calibrating, dislocating etc. Each photo has resolution of 320x480px (640x960px on the iPhone4), including the blurred background for top (date/time) and bottom (slider) stripes.

The additional options screen gives the ability to turn off the music (while watching the photographs you may listen to a simple, but very relaxing melody composed by young Polish composer “Mertruve”). You can also change the application’s language there (English & Polish available).

There is also a place for a short text to be written. This text will then appear at the bottom of each wallpaper in the wallpaper-view (e.g. “Have you found this phone? Please call: …“).

I know there is a lot of wallpaper applications out there, but this one is not a simple google-searched collection. There is a story behind each of my photos and there is passion there. I hope you will see it. - Marek Moi

iCaptions - Message in your Photos!

If you haven’t tried iCaptions yet, it’s definitely an app you should check out.  With a swipe of your finger, you can draw a speech balloon above your friend, baby, or whatever.  Then just start typing.

Once you include your message, you can then e-mail it to a friend.  In 1.1, iCaptions adds the ability to post to Twitter or to Facebook right from the app.  The integration is clean and easy to type your own post (for Twitter) or add a caption under the photo (on Facebook).

My favorite part of this app has to be how well the balloons work.  Not only are they easy to draw, but you can then resize or move them easily to position them just right.  The captions flow so nicely as they don’t seem to use a static image for the balloon.  Instead the captions are drawn exactly the way you lay them out and the tail dynamically adjusts to your positioning.  Very slick!

Also new in 1.1 are multiple balloon types.  Now you can use thought balloons (clouds with dots going up to the caption) or rounded rectangles which work great for just labeling pictures.
